As part of National Apprenticeship Week, Baltic are celebrating the success of the excellent employers we work with! We’re very excited to announce the winner of our much anticipated Employer of the Year competition.
We received numerous nominations from apprentices who wanted to recognise their employer for the support they have offered throughout their apprenticeship. We then shortlisted the 8 strongest nominations and asked our internal staff to help us choose a champion. Click the images below to view all shortlisted nominations:
After careful consideration, with votes coming in from all departments within Baltic, our Employer of the Year is…
Their software development apprentice Oscar Layzell submitted a nomination for Sopra Banking Software because he feels supported and cared for in his role:
“Sopra Banking Software have taught me so much since I joined last year. From nothing, I have been taught the fundamentals of programming as well as gaining a deeper understanding of object orientated programming and front-end development.
However, the technical skills that I have learnt at Sopra is only half of it. I have learnt a lot about business etiquette, best practice and about the world of financial banking. I am very happy at Sopra Banking and believe it is a great introduction to the world of work for young people.”
It’s clear that Sopra really care about their staff, which is why they pay close attention to training and development, taking on a number of apprentices within their technical team. We’re happy to name them our Employer of the Year and look forward to seeing more great things from their apprentices in 2019.
Sopra will receive a plaque, certificate and gift hamper to share with their apprentices. Not to mention the glory of being named Baltic's Employer of the Year for 2019!
