Congratulations to Faith Corbishley from Xamax Clothing Company for being named November's Apprentice of the Month! She will be receiving £50 in high street vouchers.
Faith has been given charge of the Facebook page Xamax owns as part of a community project, and through hard work, determination and extra study, she has made it the largest page on Facebook for it's niche (+230,000). In November, Faith also created her first truly viral post, which at time of writing has been seen by over 1.1 million people - an achievement propped up by the fact she regularly hits 250k.
Faith proposed we move onto Instagram, so was given full rein to create and manage an associated account which she has taken to over 5000 followers in just a couple of months. She has absolute control over that, with no guidance or interference - all her own work and she is portraying the brand perfectly.
After her Baltic social media course, Faith asks much fewer questions but creates even more outstanding results - she also teaches the rest of us a few things! This is encouraging for the team as Faith is the first of many apprentices we plan for in the future. If she continues to learn at such a pace, I can see a great career in Marketing for her.
Some of Faith's responsibilities are in fulfilling the orders that her social media work creates - this involves everything from product development to production and ultimately packing and posting.
This has meant learning new skills in graphic design, printing and clothing, but every item Faith has produced has been to a very high standard. Her attention to detail is an asset to us in its self and she always leaves the workshop in a better state than she found it.
Faith fits in exceptionally with everyone in the office, is polite, friendly, conscientious, and respectful of her colleagues and management and has become great friends with the office dog.
We're beyond pleased with Faith's progress and are excited to see what she astounds us with next. We're very proud of her.

NATALIE MCCANN FROM PARK LOVE2SHOP
I would like to nominate Natalie; she has grown so much since starting with us and is constantly gaining confidence. Working towards her NVQ has also been a big motivation for her and as a business; I feel it is great to offer her this opportunity. I am pleased to nominate Natalie I have found her dependable, efficient, and unfailingly punctual. Her willingness to take on new tasks all in her stride is impressive. She never complains and comes into work and gets on with everything that is required of her.
She is cheerful and remains at all times very professional with our clients. She has learnt numerous skills and become a valued member of the team. Her personal monthly development plan ticks all the right boxes and she has overachieved in some areas. Natalie is also very keen to learn and picks up new tasks assigned to her in a very timely manner, she is accurate when placing orders and always ass questions if she is ever unsure. I look forward to see how much more Natalie can grow, as she is showing great potential. She sometimes underestimate just how well she has and is doing, this why i feel compelled to nominate her as it would mean a lot to her if she was selected.
BRENDAN WESTON FROM AGILITAS IT SOLUTIONS
Brendan started with us back in December 2017 as a Level 3 IT Infrastructure apprentice and has really showed us that apprenticeships are the way forward in recruiting and raining potential new engineers for future growth, not only in our own business but for the whole IT channel. He has learnt a vast amount of knowledge on server,storage and networking hardware over a short period of time starting off stripping down complete server for their component parts, to testing Cisco network switches which he can now do with ease. He is now competent and trustworthy enough to work on customer orders and to make decisions on their quality, he often works on a late shift unsupervised without any issues. He has also shown he is passionate about what we do as he has started to train other apprentices on product and processes and has also given them some coaching on behaviours. This takes a lot of pressure off the existing team to focus on other work and shows that he is committed to developing and growing himself and within our company.
ANNIE WOOTTON FROM GAP PERSONNEL
Annie is a breath of fresh air and in our office inc she started in September. Her positivity rubs off on everyone, even when the marketing team is super busy and working to tight deadlines. Since she started she has taken on a range of responsibilities, including; designing job adverts on Adobe to post on our business Facebook pages, creating surveys to send out to our clients to get feedback on our service, and creating mailers to be sent out to our client base to be shared on LinkedIn. For someone with little to no previous design experience this is excellent progress!
Completing her online training while keeping with work can be difficult considering the volume of work she has been picking up so far, but she has managed to get everything done on time and to a high standard. She is always keen to learn how she can improve what she's doing at every opportunity.
Annie has fit in seamlessly with the marketing team and cracks us up with her sense of humour every day. It's refreshing to have such a bubbly individual who also shows great potential and adds a lot of value to the team. Well Done Annie, keep it up!
TYLER WOOD FROM EVOLUTION RECRUITMENT SOLUTIONS
In the short time that Tyler has been with Evolution Recrutiment Solutions he has exceeded everyone's expectations in terms of his ability and genuine enthusiasm for the world of IT. His integration into the infrastructure team has been effortless, showing from the beginning his willingness to learn all aspects of the role.
Tyler has quickly taken responsibility of business critical tasks, such as daily datacentre checks, reviewing anti-virus reports and checking the status of offsite backups, showing maturity beyond his years. He takes to all challenges with a positive attitude demonstrating what he has learned in his short time here. He has become the first point of contact for the support team, which deals with numerous calls from head office and He always represents our team values, conducting himself in a professional and courteous manor with colleagues at all levels across the business.
Tyler’s work/study balance is exceptional. He prides himself on producing the best work he can both for Evolution and his apprenticeship tasks, all coursework is of high standard and has been submitted well before due date.
On top of the hard work Tyler does, he is great to have in the office and part of the infrastructure team. He has impeccable time keeping and attendance making him a joy to mentor throughout his apprenticeship with us. Keep up the good work Tyler!
DAVID BLACKBURN FROM JUSTACCOUNTS
David has made significant strides in his achievements since starting in July. His quiet demeanour hides a drive and passion for his chosen career.
David has been a credit not only to himself but to Baltic training with his attitude, demeanour and willingness to learn. His first submissions of evidence required improvements, which he acted upon, providing clear, concise work which adhered to the requirements.
He has applied himself diligently to his work; meticulous planning, allied to his accurate applications, have brought him to the attention of our CTO - not a man easily impressed. Despite his young age, he has brought an abundance of experience to the role, which in turn he has unselfishly shared with colleagues.
This month he has impressed his Operational Line manager and Senior Managers with his Selenium Testing Environment. He has created from scratch an automated testing process which will have a major, positive, impact on how we handle future testing within our business. He has contributed well to another major project he has recently been brought into. He is insightful and his software developer skills show real signs of quality. We believe he has already proved himself a valued staff member.
ALEX SKELTON FROM MERCURIUS IT
Alex joined Mercurius IT back in March as our 2nd apprentice and an experiment to see if we could grow the Marketing team purely with apprentices. Though Alex had a keen interest in Media and studied this at school, he had never worked in an office environment or used social media for business purposes. 9 months on, having Alex on the team has allowed me to take my attention off the day-to-day running of our social media and website and focus on other areas of Sales and Business Development, knowing that any task I give Alex is in safe hands. Alex now runs our LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and blog channels completely independently and interacts with our customers and audience regularly. Alex’s blog posts have gained us 9 good-quality leads since we started measuring this in July, including 2 new customers, and our website traffic has increased exponentially since he started.
This month in particular, I’d like to give Alex a massive shout out for passing his last exam on the Level 3 course with flying colours. He’s flown through all his exams and assessment plans and I have no doubt his success will continue with his End Point Assessment and beyond. As a business, we would love Alex to continue with us after his Level 3 and progress onto a Level 4 qualification if he so chooses. Well done Alex!
Since joining the Internal IT team at Partnerize in October last year Jeevan has firmly established himself as a dependable, well respected member of the department.
He has taken an independent, reliable approach to all the tasks he has been assigned including:
- Taking ownership of all anti-virus alerts and ensuring they are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Setting up and maintaining all meeting room space equipment across the entire office. This included creating a process documenting all tasks involved in the daily check of these spaces.
- Contributing several documents that are now used in our user facing knowledge base.
- Conducting an equipment audit which was complex task requiring a lot of attention to detail.
As well as Jeevan’s day-to-day work, he has also made time for his studies. In his spare time, including his own lunch break on occasion, Jeevan can usually be found at his desk working though practice exams or going through notes he has taken during a training session.
Jeevan has demonstrated a level of maturity and good humour well beyond his years and as a result is very highly thought of by everyone at Partnerize.
We firmly believe that for all the reasons above Jeevan deserves recognition as Apprentice of the Month.
